Genetic Diversification Program

Doodlequest is starting a Genetic Diversification Program. It is a sperm banking program for male dogs. This program could be of interest to any doodle breeder.

This is how it works. Send us your male dog. We will work with him and condition him. If will pay for his feed unless you want him to be on something special. Once we think he is ready to breed we would drive to our reproductive specialist (4 hours round trip) and have his semen collected and frozen. We would pay the collection/freezing costs. We would split the semen 50/50%. If you wanted additional semen collected those terms would be negotiable. We have known people who have collected 7-14 breedings in a single collection. It all depends on the age and condition of the dog.

We have had many dogs that people said they could not use for breeding or collect. We have worked with these dogs and gotten them so they could be collected easily. This is important because you want the dog at ease so you can get the best collection possible. Some dogs that couldn't be collected before conditioning can go back as 'working' breeding dogs to their owners.

Make the most of your stock

Other owners have a limit to the number of dogs they can own. This program is great because the can have the easy access to sperm, genetics of their own dogs, but have these dogs living happily neutered in pet homes.

We have bred with 10 year old semen and produced wonderful pups. The semen lasts almost indefinitely when it is frozen. Owners could use their semen anytime or sell it to others. It is a nice 'insurance program'. We will open this program to any dog that could be used in a doodle program (golden, any size poodle, f1 or multigens). We will not have more than one dog to be conditioned here at a time. We will only take dogs that are healthy, well temperament, that could genetically improve the breed. We are not veteranarians. We are dedicated dog lovers. We have done a lot of reproductive work over the years and I am a registered nurse.
