DoodleQuest®

My name is Kathy Burgess and I have owned/bred dogs for 30 years.   Our family of six was one of the earliest breeders of goldendoodles.  DoodleQuest® is located in Nicholasville, near Lexington, Kentucky. We believe that sound temperament, rock solid health, and correct structure are the most important foundation on which all other accomplishments are built.  DoodleQuest® keeps only the best tempered adult dogs and Volhart test all pups before they go to homes.  To produce excellent lifetime health, we do extensive health testing on all breeding dogs and select only those with excellent histories.

In order to produce correct structure that will age gracefully, we choose dogs with correct structure and champion pedigrees.
DoodleQuest® has purchased semen from top lines from the United States, Canada and England.  We have flown to Ireland to hand-carry puppies back from top lines to add to our program.  We believe we were the first in the world to breed petite (toy) goldendoodles.

DoodleQuest® knows that well-bred pups can achieve amazing things when given the opportunity.  We have worked our dogs with search and rescue, agility, obedience, conformation and in Junior handling.   We have produced  champion and international champion dogs.  We have multiple canine good citizen  (CGC) and therapy dogs (TDI).

We have put companion dog (CD) titles on our dogs.  We have had the top scoring dog in our state that was exclusively trained by our then 10 year old daughter.  We have had one of the top 25 dogs in conformation in our breed in the United States.  We have attended the Westminster and Eukenuba Classic dog shows.  Our daughter was the #1 handler in the USA in her breed.  So, our dogs have done great things.

We believe in community service.  We make regular nursing home visits with our therapy dogs.  We frequently donate dogs as service dogs.  We have dogs that are serving the physically handicapped, the blind, the deaf and as social service dogs.  We have an autistic-calming dog and a seizure-alert dog with a young child.  We donated a dog that was used in research to see whether a dog could be trained to sniff peanuts to protect its owner from accidental allergy exposure.

Our first donated dog was Kansas Dog of the Year.  Many service dog organizations have contacted us for either service dogs or dogs to add to their breeding program.  We know that we can only do a little but we try to do our part to make the world a better place.

They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.   If is nice when others recognize our excellent reputation and quality dogs.   Unfortunately, we have had problems with a breeder using our  kennel name, DoodleQuest®.  We believe it is done in an attempt to funnel unsuspecting buyers that are looking to buy a DoodleQuest® dog and know of our excellent reputation to her site.   This breeder has a reputation for misrepresenting dogs, selling unsocialized, untested, sick dogs and then not honoring her health guarantee.   Many times the owners have their new puppy die after just a few days or weeks after arrival and our out hundred or thousands of dollars in vet expenses.   To add insult to injury the owners then find that the breeder has no intention of honoring her health guarantee.   What a heartbreak!  We feel very bad for the owner who was deceived and is emotionally and financially spent.  Therefore to protect new owners we have felt forced to trademark our kennel name, DoodleQuest®.   If you see any other breeders using DoodleQuest® please contact us so we can take the appropriate actions to keep other new owners safe.  DoodleQuest® simply the best.
